Exhibición de Pablo Atchugarry en la Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències
La exposición Hacia el Futuro de Pablo Atchugarry, presenta siete esculturas en el espacio exterior de la Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències de Valencia, en un diálogo con las terrazas de agua y con la arquitectura de Santiago Calatrava.
Es la muestra escultórica más significativa del artista hasta el momento en España. El exterior de la Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències se convierte en un lugar único donde la escultura y la arquitectura se unen, transmitiendo mensajes de misericordia, compasión y ensoñación. Todas estas figuras silentes insinúan en secreto una poesía lírica en el marco de épica estructural de la gran arquitectura de Calatrava.
La sencilla (en apariencia) y monolítica obra de Atchugarry se presenta en esta escenografía muscular, de tensiones estructurales, como grandes esqueletos animales que cobijan espacios enormes rodeados de charcas o basins de agua.
Esta arquitectura cobija ahora las esculturas de Atchugarry, produciéndose un bello contraste entre una arquitectura musculosa, de tensiones estructurales, frente a un pensamiento escultórico que, partiendo del monolito de piedra en sí misma, exprime, su de-construcción, los ritmos internos del propio material. Hay una pieza principal vertical en acero, tres piezas en mármol a la entrada del Museo, y dos en bronce pintado que se introducen en el agua.

The exhibition Hacia el futuro by Pablo Atchugarry, presents seven sculptures in the outdoor space of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències in Valencia, in a dialogue with the water terraces and the architecture of Santiago Calatrava.
It is the artist's most significant sculptural exhibition to date in Spain. The exterior of the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències becomes a unique place where sculpture and architecture come together, conveying messages of mercy, compassion and reverie. All these silent figures secretly hint at a lyrical poetry within the structural epic framework of Calatrava's grand architecture.
The simple (in appearance) and monolithic work of Atchugarry is presented in this muscular scenography of structural tensions, like large animal skeletons that shelter enormous spaces surrounded by pools or basins of water.
This architecture now shelters Atchugarry's sculptures, producing a beautiful contrast between a muscular architecture, of structural tensions, as opposed to a sculptural thought that, starting from the stone monolith itself, expresses, its de-construction, the internal rhythms of the material itself. There is a main vertical piece in steel, three pieces in marble at the entrance of the Museum, and two in painted bronze that are introduced into the water.
