Perspectives for understanding contemporary art

Contemporary artists show us diverse approaches to observe, analyze, rethink and critically understand the varied and changing present. However, it often causes us rejection and seems incomprehensible.

In this workshop we will provide practical tools to decode Contemporary Art in order to discuss, re-think and address current issues in a critical way.

The MACA works will serve as triggers to initiate dialogues and debates on the aforementioned themes. The main objective is for participants to experience relational/experiential exercises, artistic and visual thinking strategies, the creative process and its possible applications in everyday life.

Objectives:

Develop the confidence to approach contemporary art.

To make visible the potential of contemporary art to think and understand the present.

To contribute to transform the paradigm of understanding art as a methodology limited to producing and not analyzing, and restricted to a hierarchical concept of individual talents and "geniuses", which does not question but imposes on a passive audience canons of beauty, rules, limited and acquired aesthetic codes. Our proposal is oriented to curiosity, research and the exchange of ideas.
