JR (2021).
"Paper & Glue" is a feature-length documentary that follows acclaimed French artist JR around the world as he creates some of his most monumental projects, challenging perspectives and uniting communities through thought-provoking work.
From early videos of illegal graffiti filmed on the nighttime rooftops of Paris, to the US-Mexico border, the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, and his latest work in a California maximum security prison, the film follows JR as he creates change in these communities, turning the images of their residents into immersive art installations.
In "Paper & Glue", JR uses her vision and style to sensitise the public's approach to those who suffer and change that which "if we don't see it, it doesn't exist". JR uses her platform to weave these present day, emotionally reflective portraits to give voice to the voiceless women and men.
